Melissa is an aspirational student who is relationally, ethically, and universally dedicated. She was invited to join the selective International Honors Marketing Society, Mu Kappa Tau, signifying her as the top of her class, as well as being named on the Deans List successive semesters. Due to her deep desire to progress the condition of those in her local community, she was honored as Public Representative for Big Brothers Big Sister’s of Rockingham County; speaking at local and state events on the importance and need for volunteers and support for under-privileged children.
Melissa also has relevant and applicable international business education. She has taken global marketing courses at Istanbul’s Bahçeşehir University, academically explored the business markets of Greece, and moreover has studied the growth of West African business in Kampala, Uganda. Melissa helped lead the trip to Uganda as a mission to provide aid, support, and love to the women and children of a needy orphanage in Gulu.

-Created international corporate expansion plan that focused on fostering economical and cultural entrepreneurial opportunity between the U.S. and Istanbul, Turkey. Plan was analyzed and approved by CMO’s of Istanbul’s Bachesehir University, Sony-Turkey, and Toyota-Turkey.
-Created highly recognized business plan for inventive entrepreneurial company in rigorous business course.

-Analyzed conclusive and exploratory consumer marketing data in order to develop effective marketing and social media campaigns. Specialized in qualitative marketing to analyze consumer motivations and consumption habits.
-Honored for highly ranked SEO and successful Google Adwords campaigns for Internet Marketing course.
-Produced professionally qualified eBook for inquiring corporate communication professionals. Ebook concisely detailed the need of blogs and podcasts for successful corporate online presence.
-Effectively initiated and implemented social media campaign’s using Twitter, Blogs, Facebook, YouTube, Digg etc. to amplify company presence and accomplish marketing goals of Kanakuk Kamps.

-Represented regional company Shade2Go at local and national venues as head of customer relations; augmented company’s relationship with current and potential customers.
– Gulu, Uganda: April 2010- Was blessed to journey to the destitute village of Gulu for missionary work. Led evangelism teams, counseled Congolese women and children, provided basic needs to The Zion Project, and spread the love of Christ to the Ugandan people.
-Greece/Turkey: May, June 2010- Examined and experienced the rich culture and history of Greece and Turkey. Academically analyzed economic effects of the countries’ current financial crisis.
-Designed promotional tools for Kanakuk Kamps, University Recreations, Campus Crusade for Christ, Phi Chi Theta, Aletheia Church, and local Harrisonburg businesses.

This video was created in order to expound upon my knowledge about the effectiveness of non-profit blogging. Alicia Morehouse of the Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance, a blog nationally acclaimed for it’s model strategy, was interviewed to help myself and my readers gain more insight on how one can use blogging to an organization’s advantage.
This is a website I designed for a corporate client, One Stop Cleanout, a regional foreclosure company. I was also hired to regularly monitor and maintain all of their web operations from site updates to SEO.
